"Praying or remembering our essence is as natural to us as breathing.
Also like breathing, we very often forget to do it. Well as many of us are aware, for many years now and ever on the increase, there are those that wish to "help" us. For a price, however. Most of these "teachers", "gurus", "shamans", "medicine people" are self proclaimed, self taught, or ordained so by someone who is. They have read books, attended lectures, seminars, workshops and/or intensives that are very expensive. They have gone home and practiced and analyzed whatever they were sold. In a moment of ecstasy, they "realized" they were good at it, they, too, had a gift. But far from giving, these people take and take and take. They take peoples money, peoples attention, they take peoples identities. All the while you are being told, "the more you give, the more you receive." This pulls on peoples needs for spiritual connectedness, healing, and power. This is spiritual exploitation.

A double bind is a kind of baited trap. It is like a lobster pot or a
similar type of animal trap - the trap is initially attractive and
easy to get into, but then turns out to be much harder to get out of.
Unlike an animal trap, a double bind works on a psychological level
rather than a physical one. A double bind tricks a person into doing
what the controller wants, while giving an illusion of choice.
A double bind offers some kind of benefit as its bait. With the FWBO,
the bait is the promise of personal and spiritual growth.

I spent 7 years with training in power, and went to level 6.
It is easy to write a positive review as someone in levels 1-4.
Levels 1-3 are wonderful, mostly. If you are hooked, if you must, go
through with levels 1-3, then run far far away.
There is a reason the drop out rate is %50 or more after the level 6
retreat.
At first it was amazing, positive. I felt high on life. Meditation
was new to me....healing was new to me. Of course I was easily
hooked. The training is very careful to build you up, to reassure you
of your 'power', and how different and special you (they) are. I
think I was particularly vulnerable to this. But then again, who
doesnt want to feel 'special'.
